The Arthur Cleveland Bent Award is given out annually by the Taunton Conservation
Commission. Arthur Cleveland Bent, who lived in Taunton from 1866 – 1954, was an
internationally famous ornithologist and naturalist. He conducted bird studies at the
site of the current Boyden Wildlife Refuge. This award honors his memory. It is given to
a recipient who best exemplifies the spirit and dedication of Arthur Bent in advancing
our knowledge, appreciation and protection of wildlife, natural resources and
conservation.
Recipients of the A.C. Bent Award for the years 2014 through 2021 will be honored at a
ceremony in the Spring, 2022.
